JJJJ December 2007 - Goodness it's Nearly Christmas
Busy would be a very good word to describe the last month. High season runs from November - April, so Jamie has been busy at work.. Jessica is back at school, so everyone else is busy. We stay open later at Sunrise Divers in high season so I am often not home until nearly 8pm. Free time and "quality family time" is in short supply. We make the most of what we have... I have just had a lie down with Jessica before she goes to sleep. Day after tomorrow is Saturday, my day off.. no plans yet, but our favourite restaurant on the beach might feature again!
So..what have we been up to recently?
Halloween
Not a huge celebration in Thailand, but at Jessicas school they had a dressing up day and played games. Jessica was the prettiest witch in the school...
John the Biker?

Buddha Mountain
We head up Buddha Mountain quite often. The building of the Big Buddha (45m high) continues.... A little restaurant opened near the top of the hill and (for now) it offers cheap Thai food, drinks and a great view..

Layan Beach
One of Phuket's many more remote beaches, quite off the beaten track.. we first found Layan Beach some time ago and never found time to go back until recently. Very nice place, we'll be back! More: Layan Beach on Jamie's Phuket.

The Beach Bar
On the beach in a quiet area of Phuket, we like The Beach Bar... just a little beachside restaurant, nothing flash, cheap food, very relaxed.. perfect. Lots of photos to follow... I mean, we really like this place!

...and Loy Kratong
Loy Kratong is an ancient Thai festival all about giving thanks to the goddess of the water. You make a "kratong" and float it somewhere. See more on Jamie's Phuket Blog. We made our own kratong and set it afloat at the nearby reservoir.

Christmas here we come!
