Back to School
The school year in Thailand starts in May (unless your kids go to an international school, in which case the school may follow a British or American system). The first term lasts from May to September.
This school year is something very different for us. Both Jessica and John are at school. Jessica is now in year P1 (primary) and is in the bilingual section of Kajonkiet School, while John is in year K1 (Kindergarten) in the Thai section of the school - much cheaper, plus he really needs to learn Thai properly as we speak English almost all the time at home. Jessica also started in the Thai school.
So I have been taking a holiday, the idea being to have a little time just for me and Mam - we've hardly had any as it turns out as we've been doing a lot around the house, plus John was sick for a day, Jessica was sick for a day and there was a long weekend due to a Buddhist holiday on Monday 19th May. I just extended my holiday for a few more days...
A few photos of the first couple of school days...
John is adjusting well, Jessica is finding primary harder work then kindergarten, and I personally think she's getting too much homework.

Jessica seemed a bit unsure about it.

Me and the kids having a larf before school.

John did not seem too bothered. He's got used to the school, always going with Mam to drop off and pick up Jessica. Anyway, Kindergarten is not too much more than organised fun.
