Loy Krathong - 12th November 2008

Loy Krathong is a Thai festival, all about casting off bad luck and giving thanks to the goddess of water. It has Hindu origins - Buddhism and Hinduism have quite a lot in common. Every year we seem to end up at Bang Wad reservoir to float (Loy) our Krathong, but we have decided to go somewhere much quieter next time. Some more photos on "Jamie's Phuket":

And a few more.. I need a new camera, a proper SLR digital, better for low light photos. Getting decent night photos in particular is hard work. I have my eyes on the Canon 40D....
