Kids and Bikes (31st January 2009)

Finally! Jessica can ride a bike! We have not pushed her, and I was always wary of riding around our village, as although it's pretty quiet, cars can come round the corner and the road does slope slightly. The nearby reservoir is ideal, but we can only go there in the evening, and you know how it is - home from school, homework, dinner, shower, bed. And anyway, I normally get home after dark.

Suddenly a few weeks ago, on a visit to the reservoir (when I was still a work), she tried on a friends bike and BINGO! So, we went and got her a new bike. Meanwhile, John was happy on his little bike with stabilisers, though as it turned out, John would not be long in following Jessica on 2 wheels.

But first a couple of videos - Jessica riding in our village and then at the reservoir along with friend Jason and his dad Phil and mum Josie. I had to stick to motorbike and rode with John. Jessica, on her first day on her new bike, had a nice fall and grazed her knee. She was trying to race Jason who is rather more used to riding!
